In this episode the crew gets together to discuss Netflix’s “Two Distant Strangers”. **exhales** why, just why the fuck did we get this movie. We are getting ahead of ourselves, let’s start with love. The movie follows a young black artist played by Joey Badass as he tries to get home to his dog. Only issue is he is stuck in a loop where he relives the day he dies at the hand of a police officer hell bent on making sure he doesn’t make it to his dog or another day. No matter how he tries to evade the cop the result is always the same. Whether it’s death by the Eric Garner  choke hold, or the Breanna Taylor bad info home invasion, he dies. Conceptually, the movie is amazing, creative and innovative in how it allows the audience to live through or relive trauma of present day America. Performance wise, stellar, Joey is a talent tour de force and it’s undeniable. Now all that said, why the fuck did we need to watch another movie of another black man dying. The fuck is the point. We are all aware that shit is happening, now what?? How about one showing a solution, like I don’t know maybe a movie where qualified immunity is abolished at the federal level so cops realize if you kill us it’s jail and no fucking pension. Stop finding creative ways to restate the problem instead of presenting a solution. But maybe it’s us.
