Plan B (#Butt #Secs and #Skullfuq)

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss Hulu’s #PlanB. Longtime listeners may recognize the title from our interview with one of the writers, #PrathiSrinivasan last year in our #Perfect #Blue episode; go give it a listen if you haven’t heard it yet. All #shameless #plugs aside, the movie was well written (#noshocker), hilarious, and surprisingly informative. #PlanB is a new age #feminist like take on the classic hi jinx #bff #roadtrip genre of #comedy movies. It follows two young teen women, #Lupe (played by #VictoriaMoroles) and #Sunny (played by #KuhooVerma) as they hunt down a Plan B #pill in #SouthDakota. So it’s not #WhiteCastle but all the standing characters are still here. The obligatory #toyota car or in this case minivan, the random redneck that is #offensive without cause or need, and of course the destruction of the aforementioned #toyota vehicle. The movie sheds a light, albeit a hilarious one, on the judgement women face for their #sexual choices. It brings up the conversation of who’s responsible for contraceptive, and thankfully clarifies that no one can get #pregnant via #buttsecs. This movie is a timely bit of sugar for the medicine that reminds us that there a states that make it impossible for a woman to exercise her right to choose. It’s smart without being preachy. It doesn’t tell you how to feel or even takes a stand on #prochoice vs #prolife. It merely presents a situation relatable to so many young people today, and reminds us that not everywhere in #America is a #Berkeley campus. But  the most important #tip provided in #PlanB was that not all #heads should be #pierced.
